About

Our purpose

Children of Nepal is a small charitable organisation that has the aim of improving the opportunities available to children living in Nepal by:

  • building classrooms and other facilities in government schools

  • improving school facilities, particularly the supply of clean drinking water

  • providing opportunities for education to more children in Nepal

Our area of work

Nepal has large-scale aid projects taking place alongside small-scale projects and activities. Some are funded by the government of Nepal and some by other countries.

Children of Nepal aims to make a direct impact on the people in Nepal with whom it works.

Charitable status

Children of Nepal is a charity registered with the UK government's Charity Commission for England and Wales. Our registration number is 1059779.

We do not pay any salaries or expenses and every penny raised through our donors, sponsors and supporters is spent in Nepal on our projects to improve the educational facilities for young people in Nepal.

Our progress

Since 1997, Children of Nepal has provided funds for 98 projects in 76 schools in the Nawalpur district of Nepal - building or upgrading classrooms, providing clean drinking water and sanitation, and improving facilities such as secure fencing and creating playground space. We have also provided sponsorship for children who otherwise may not have been able to attend school.

Fundraising

Children of Nepal is based in the UK where we raise funds through an annual sponsored bike ride and with generous assistance from individual donors. To find out more about our fund-raising activities, have a look at our Newsletters.
